If you love movies you’re probably stunned at the death of Robin Williams. He’s one of our greatest comedians whose decades of work offered us more happiness than many of us probably remember, whether you’re a fan of his more serious work like “Good Will Hunting,” “One Hour Photo” or “Insomnia,” or the manic slapstick side he showed in countless movies, including “Mrs. Doubtfire,” “Aladdin” and “Flubber.”
Williams’ untimely death has left 5 films to be released in 2014 and 2015 (or recently were), meaning we’ll be seeing a lot of him in the months to come. Here are the 5 upcoming Robin Williams films.
Boulevard: Williams plays Nolan Mack, a married man who secretly engages in gay rendevous. The kind of interesting, layered character Williams has become known for, it is a departure from the typical Robin Williams comic character.
The Angriest Man in Brooklyn: In a macabre bit of irony, this dramedy sees Williams plays a man told by his doctor he has 90 minutes to live, who then embarks on a frantic effort to get his affairs in order, especially in reconciling with his wife and children. Co-starring Mila Kunis, Peter Dinklage and Melissa Leo.
Merry Friggin’ Christmas: A comedy co-starring Joel McHale (“Community”), Clark Duke (“Hot Tub Time Machine”) and Candice Bergen, Williams plays a man whose family is stuck with a family of misfits over Christmas. When he finds he left his son’s Christmas gifts at home, he sets out to make the 8-hour round trip before sunrise to retrieve them.
Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb: Williams reprises his role as Teddy Roosevelt in the Ben Stiller “Museum” franchise, this film is set to hit theaters December 19.
Absolutely Anything: Williams lends his voice to Dennis the Dog in this film about a teacher who learns she has magical powers. Kate Beckinsale, Simon Pegg, and just about all of the Monty Python gang co-star.
