Drawing design inspiration from an antiquated bar table named Taula Baixa, which he spotted on a recent trip to Barcelona, mental prospects of a chic drinks table began to invade designer, Glen Baghurst. In creative collaboration with AB M&E Ohlssons Klockgjuteri, who cast the champagne table in solid brass, the piece incorporates a functional bell-shaped base used to store champagne bottles of choice. The handsome tabletop, also solid brass, has been cantilevered by a marble base cut from the mountains of Carrara.
“The thing that struck me from the Taula Baixa was its 70’s plastic frivolousness and the potential for a spontaneous party. This got me interested in making a drinks table”.
