Who said an inflatable cannot multitask? This genius new bit of kit is called the Nest, designed by Ivan Zhang and Jeho Yoon, it’s potentially the coolest chilling-out device: an air mattress that transforms into a boat. As you can see, thanks to an internal structure of ropes and carabiners, it can be adjusted to suit your floatation needs. When you disconnect all of the carabiners inside, the Nest pops out into a boat.
Although the Nest won the design duo the Best of the Best Red Dot Design Award, it’s not yet on the market. Here’s hoping an outdoor manufacturer will snap it up in tie for summer!
