What the heck is a Sandwichbike, you’re no doubt wondering. It’s a bike (first and foremost), that you make yourself…like a sandwich. Unless you’re in Subway. The brainchild of designer Basten Leijh though the concept is straightforward achieving it wasn’t so. In accomplish the idea and making it a reality Leijh had to redesign the entire aspect of the classic velocipede. The usual welded frame was put together with two weather-coated frames of layered plywood. Though it may look a little like some large ice cream sticks accessorised with some bike tyres and handlebars, this revolutionary piece of technology is rock-solid and durable not to mention unique. The flat pack is posted to you upon order and arrives in less than 50 parts making it very easy to assemble. Even the tools you need come with it! Thoughtful eh? We reckon this could quite possibly be the best sandwich on the market…though we’ll leave the taste test to you if that’s OK.
The Sandwichbike is available to order for around $1,027 (£675).
