Red Weapon Dragon

High-end camera brand RED debuted the newest model in their DRAGON collection at the National Association of Broadcaster’s show in Las Vegas, blowing all others out of the water, perhaps for good. The Red WEAPON Dragon boasts plenty of upgrades compared to its predecessors. In addition to workflow enhancements and cable-free and intuitive peripherals, the photographic phenomenon has integrated mounting points and is capable of 75fps widescreen 8K capture. The brand’s smallest, most lightweight BRAIN ever, is a rare technological wonder. In addition to an insane 8192 x 4320 35-megapixel sensor, its design is simply striking.

According to the brand, “WEAPON combines optimal color science and dynamic range of the 19 megapixel RED DRAGON® sensor with all new built-in functionality and intuitive design”. Users can record in RAW and ProRes formats at the same time, though you’ll need to purchase other good stuff like your monitors, viewfinders and lenses separately.

So, how much does a killer camera like the Red Weapon Dragon cost? At about $60k for the 8K version, it may be time to build up that piggy bank.
